Colin Ella previously lived in Hatfield before coming to the Isle of Axholme nine years ago. He has written many articles over the past 25 years which have featured in various newspapers, magazines and journals. Ever since coming to Axholme he has shown a great interest in its history and has written two books in this respect. His Around the Isle of Axholme was published in 1993, followed a year later by Historic Epworth - The Heart of the Isle of Axholme. Colin sincerely hopes that readers will enjoy this, the first of two books showing a wide range of postcards depicting the life and work of Axholme in the early decades of the present century.
